In 1961, our dad Antonio “Tonino” Procentese arrived in Trieste and brought a special brand of magic as the first Neapolitan pizzaiolo in the city. Building on the strong food traditions of Naples he opened Al Barattolo in 1981 which today is cared for and managed by his children and grandchildren. With ample indoor and outdoor seating, Al Barattolo is open just about every day of the year (except for Christmas!) from 9.00am to 11.00pm non stop.

Using the freshest ingredients our extensive menu has something for everyone from traditionally made Neapolitan style pizzas, fresh pastas, grilled meats and local fish, Al Barattolo is a fan favorite with both locals and visitors to our beautiful city.
